Allow saving and reviewing partial EPS results when “Cannot Solve Equations” occurs

When running Extended Period Simulations (EPS), the occurrence of the “Cannot Solve Equations” error currently causes the entire simulation to fail, with no access to results from the timesteps that were successfully solved prior to the error.

It would be highly beneficial if the software could retain and make available the results up to the last successfully computed timestep, even when convergence fails at a later point in the simulation.

Access to these partial results would significantly improve model diagnostics by allowing users to:

  • Review system behavior leading up to the convergence failure;

  • Identify patterns, control actions, or element interactions (e.g., VSPs, PRVs, dynamic valves, controls) that may be contributing to the issue;

  • Narrow down the exact time and operating conditions under which non-convergence occurs;

  • Reduce trial-and-error cycles and improve efficiency in large or iterative modeling studies.

This functionality would not be intended to mask convergence issues, but rather to provide additional insight and transparency into the solver behavior, supporting more effective troubleshooting and model refinement.
